Adam Simpson

Adam Simpson

Adam calls Austin, TX home, where he shares life’s adventures with his wife, three rambunctious boys, and a dog that’s just a little too hairy to be trusted. By day, he wrangles code as a web developer to keep the lights on, but his heart has always been in roleplaying games and the pages of sci-fi and fantasy books.

He’s been lucky enough to travel to over 30 countries, learning firsthand that nothing expands the mind quite like getting lost in a place where you don’t speak the language.

A longtime World of Darkness fan, Adam sees the published books not as sacred texts but as a toolbox—pieces to tinker with, not rigid rules to follow. Mage: The Ascension got its hooks in him early, back when he spotted an ad for the first edition before it even hit shelves. The game’s mix of big ideas, philosophy, and history keeps pulling him back. He’s more about crafting new stories than following pre-made metaplots, preferring to chart his own course rather than play in someone else’s sandbox.

For years, he was known around the internet as “Tachyon,” but don’t worry—he’s feeling much better now.
